"account": "A 21-year-old man, Lim Yong Xiang, met his demise at a shopping mall car park entrance. Before his death, he and his then 16-year-old girlfriend, both of whom took drugs and vaporizer pods known as Kpods, intended to end their lives together. The incident occurred on June 24, 2025, around 6:35 am at the Novena mall car park.\n\nSecurities guard discovered Lim on the ground, and immediately alerted the police. Upon arrival, paramedics found Lim unresponsive and pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigations later revealed that Lim had been released on parole in May 2024, was required to wear an electronic monitoring device, and had a history of drug overdoses.\n\nIt was learned that Lim and his girlfriend planned to withdraw money from an ATM at the mall before heading to Geylang to buy more drugs. The girlfriend noticed Lim's body shaking violently and became concerned. They consumed methamphetamine and smoked Kpods before eventually dying of drug overdose.",
