"summary": "During a Lagos governorship debate organized by the Nigeria Debate Consortium, candidates addressed issues including waste management and their respective political histories. According to Premium Times, the candidates were questioned regarding whether their past political experiences had prepared them to govern the state.\n\nPunch reported that Funso Doherty, the Nigeria Democratic Congress governorship candidate, accused successive governments of lacking the political will to tackle the activities of transport operators known as agberos. Doherty stated that vested interests within the current public transportation system have hindered reform efforts despite the chaotic operation of commercial buses. He further questioned the delay in modernizing the state's transportation system, noting that thousands of rickety buses continue to operate on the roads.",
