"summary": "Nvidia announced on Sunday that its board of directors is initiating an independent investigation following reports that founder and CEO Jensen Huang was the target of a foreign intelligence effort. The inquiry follows media reports, including an October report from the New York Times, alleging that Huang had a close relationship with a Chinese businesswoman who passed information to Beijing. ABC News AU reports that Nvidia's board currently has no reason to believe Nvidia secrets or US national security were compromised, though the company will examine all available information.\n\nAccording to ABC News AU, Axios reported on a draft email from Mr. Huang to employees in which he admitted to a romantic relationship with a suspected Chinese spy and took responsibility for being unfaithful to his wife. The National UAE also reported on an email written by Mr. Huang to the company confirming the romantic relationship. Mr. Huang has stated he supports the independent investigation and has committed to cooperating with the review.\n\nSeparately, top Republican lawmakers in the US House of Representatives have called for Mr. Huang to brief Congress this month regarding the allegations.",
