"account": "Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Lagos State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has challenged Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat over his remarks regarding the 2020 #EndSARS protests. Rhodes-Vivour reminded the audience of how he and other opposition figures were tear-gassed at the Lekki tollgate in October 2026, while attempting to lay flowers in memory of the #EndSARS victims. During the Nigeria Debate Consortium's Lagos governorship debate, Rhodes-Vivour expressed his disagreement with Hamzat's description of October 20, 2020, as a sad day for Lagos. He pointed out that the state government had established a judicial commission and issued a white paper following the incident, but questioned the consistency between Hamzat's empathetic stance and the reality of violence against opposition parties in Lagos.",
