"summary": "Nvidia's board is launching an investigation into whether CEO Jensen Huang was targeted by a foreign spy plot, though the company stated it has no reason to believe any secrets were compromised, according to Bloomberg. US intelligence believes Alice Huang, an executive at Singapore-based firm Megaspeed, was an agent for China’s Ministry of State Security. TechSpot reports that intelligence agencies kept Alice Huang under electronic surveillance for at least a year and that a memo circulated among Trump administration policymakers last spring regarding her recruitment to learn about American AI chips and potentially influence the Nvidia chief.\n\nTechSpot and The Business Times - Companies & Markets report that Alice Huang was allegedly recruited to help China gain access to advanced processors. According to Tom's Hardware, there are reports that Jensen Huang had a romantic relationship with the suspected spy, though Jensen Huang is currently married to Lori Huang. Megaspeed, a customer of Nvidia, began purchasing chips in 2024 and has been accused of smuggling $2 billion worth of AI chips into China via its subsidiary, Speedmatrix, according to Tom's Hardware.\n\nRepublican leaders of three House committees have requested that Jensen Huang explain his dealings with Alice Huang during a closed-door briefing later this month, according to TechSpot. CNBC Technology reports that lawmakers intend to question the Nvidia CEO following reports regarding his relationship with the alleged Chinese intelligence asset.",
