"summary": "The Ogun State Police Command has secured the safe release of ten passengers who were abducted from a commercial bus at Orita Fufu, Awa-Ijebu, in the Ijebu North-East Local Government Area. According to Daily Post Nigeria, the victims were recently discharged corps members traveling from Benin City to Ibadan when gunmen intercepted their bus at approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. While families reported that kidnappers demanded between N20 million and N25 million, the police clarified that none of the victims were serving corps members.\n\nThe victims were released unharmed on Sunday following intelligence-led efforts and sustained security pressure. Daily Post Nigeria reported that an Anti-Kidnapping Unit operation took place at approximately 1:00 a.m. on November 8, when operatives stormed a suspected hideout along the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road.\n\nSeparately, Governor Abiodun stated that the state has established a security foundation to facilitate a transition to state policing and improve the protection of lives and property, according to Premium Times.",
