"summary": "A 34-year-old Ugandan woman, Farida Nansubuga, has been arrested in Nigeria for allegedly attempting to smuggle 1.15kg of cocaine. The drugs were concealed around her pelvic region beneath two layers of underwear. Nansubuga was apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on November 3, 2026, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while preparing to board a flight to Uganda. She had arrived in Nigeria on October 29 with members of her church for a prayer session but allegedly remained to collect the drug consignment for a friend. The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, stated that Nansubuga had traveled to Nigeria under the guise of religious activities but later became involved in an attempt to transport the cocaine across international borders. The arrest highlights the exploitation of religious activities and international travel by criminal networks to recruit couriers for drug trafficking.",
