"summary": "NASA is seeking a new generation of astronauts to participate in its Artemis program and potentially live and work on the moon. The US space agency announced the call for applications on Saturday during a Kennedy Space Center air show, emphasizing that successful candidates could help shape humanity's future in space and pave the way for the first crewed missions to Mars. Nasa administrator Jared Isaacman stated that the agency is at an \"extraordinary time to join\" the astronaut corps, as the selected individuals could walk on the moon, live at a lunar base, and contribute to the systems and operations that will carry crews to Mars. The application deadline is 3 December, and applicants must be US citizens with a master's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics, medical qualifications, pilot training, or relevant doctoral program experience.",
