"account": "Umar Jajere, the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Yobe State, and Mustapha Gado, its Secretary-General, have rejected their purported impeachment, stating it is invalid. They insist they remain the council's recognized leaders, accusing those behind the move of violating the IPAC Code of Conduct (2019). This decision came after an emergency meeting at the council's secretariat in Damaturu, the state capital, on Thursday. The meeting concluded with a vote of no confidence against Jajere and Gado, who were accused of not consulting member political parties on critical decisions and neglecting the council's meetings. However, Jajere and Gado argue that the meeting did not meet the quorum requirement as stipulated in the code, thus rendering any decision made invalid. They also criticize the meeting's lack of proper notice and the absence of formal complaints or investigations before the impeachment. The officials maintain their legitimacy, warning against unauthorized leadership claims and threatening disciplinary measures against those involved. They have notified the national secretariat of IPAC about the matter.",
