"account": "A bustling atmosphere surrounds the Electoral Commission’s Results Operations Centre (ROC) in Midrand as the nation anticipates the 2026 local government election results. Enhanced security measures have been implemented, restricting access to the ROC. The South African Police Service (SAPS) is deploying various resources, including their K9 Explosives Unit, which is conducting a sweep prior to the anticipated 18:00 announcement. In addition, SAPS Mounted Unit and the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) are on patrol in and around the ROC.\n\nIEC officials and support teams are diligently preparing the necessary equipment for the event. Within the vicinity, jubilant supporters of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) have begun singing traditional struggle songs near the ROC entrance. In an attempt to manage the situation, police are currently engaging with the MKP members to encourage them to disperse from the area.\n\nFollowing the announcement, South Africans will need to wait a minimum of two weeks to ascertain the final results of the hung councils. President Cyril Ramaphosa is also anticipated to attend the ceremony marking the revelation of the election outcomes.",
