"summary": "Sayed Mohassib, a 27-year-old man, has been charged with the fatal stabbing of Brooklyn jogger Katie Suarez. Mohassib previously served as a New York City police officer but resigned from the department in December 2022. His brief tenure with the NYPD has come under scrutiny following the October 30 killing of Suarez, who was stabbed while jogging along the Shore Parkway Greenway in Bath Beach, Brooklyn. Mohassib was arrested on November 7 and charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and tampering with physical evidence. The Department of Education has suspended Mohassib, who worked as a school aide at P.S. 200 in Bath Beach, Brooklyn, following his arrest.",
