"summary": "The Anufor (Chakwasi) chiefs have appealed to the National House of Chiefs and the Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom for the establishment of a separate traditional council in Chereponi, located in the North East Region of Ghana. The appeal was made during the 2026 Anufor Regional House of Chiefs Diaspora Conference, where the representative of the Paramount Chief of Chereponi stressed the historical ties between the Anufor and Gonja people, stating that both communities share blood and family relations. The conference aimed to reaffirm the identity, history, and cultural heritage of the Anufor people, while also building unity and fostering development through culture, education, economic opportunities, and sustainable development. The Gonja traditional leadership has assured the Anufor chiefs of their support in addressing the community's challenges.",
