"account": "The body of slain anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota was brought to his hometown of Mansa on Sunday for last rites, following his murder in October. Jhota was shot dead in broad daylight at a medical store in Mansa town on October 13. The owner of the store, who had fired at Jhota after the activist confronted him, was subsequently arrested. A large number of people attended Jhota's home to pay their respects before the cremation took place at his fields on Chakerian Road in Mansa. Jhota's father, Bhim Singh, called on youth of Punjab to pledge against drug abuse and vowed to cremate his son on Diwali Day. The JAC, a coalition of social organizations and activists, pressed for Jhota's cremation at his native place and the government agreed to several demands, including a trauma centre and a statue in Jhota's name.",
