"summary": "Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, a former deputy minister of trade, has been appointed as one of eight Eastern Region representatives on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Council. The announcement, made by the Eastern Regional Secretariat, includes Regional Chairman Jeff Konadu Addo, Regional Secretary Tony Osei-Adjei, and First Vice Chairman Richard Twum Barima Koranteng, among others. Asiamah-Adjei, who represented Akuapem North in Parliament from 2017 to 2025 and served as Deputy Minister for Information and Trade under former President Nana Akufo-Addo, previously contested the Okaikwei North parliamentary seat in 2024. Her appointment follows the NPP’s leadership renewal, with former General Secretary John Boadu elected as the new National Chairman. The National Council plays a crucial role in directing party affairs between National Delegates Conferences, and Asiamah-Adjei’s inclusion highlights the party’s focus on rebuilding grassroots confidence and preparing for the 2028 election.",
