"account": "The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a significant stash of illicit drugs cleverly hidden inside imported furniture and women's headgear. This latest seizure comes from a series of operations conducted by NDLEA operatives in recent times. Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, shared videos of the discoveries on social media platform X. The footage depicts officers unpacking large cardboard boxes filled with sofas, and then carefully cutting into the packaging to reveal concealed packages of suspected narcotics. A similar operation involved examining decorative headgears, where operatives discovered additional packages of illegal substances hidden within the fabric and linings of the traditional head wraps. These discoveries highlight the ongoing efforts of NDLEA to combat drug trafficking networks that increasingly exploit everyday consumer goods to smuggle narcotics into and out of Nigeria. The agency has repeatedly intercepted similar concealed narcotics within furniture components, headgears, shoes, and electrical appliances at various ports and facilities. These cases underscore the creativity of drug cartels in devising methods to evade detection.",
