"account": "The Egyptian Football Association terminated the contract of head coach Hossam Hassan on November 7, 2024, citing a negative impact on the team's image and the need to prioritize stability. The federation did not provide further details on the specific incidents leading to Hassan's dismissal, which occurred after the Supreme Council for Media Regulation banned him from the media due to personal disputes. Maher, the manager of Ceramica Cleopatra and a former Egypt player, was immediately appointed as his successor. Maher's team is currently positioned fourth in the Egyptian Premier League. The dismissal of Hassan, who won three Africa Cup of Nations titles as a player and holds the record as Egypt's all-time top scorer, comes after Egypt's national team advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost to Senegal. Maher, with a background in the Egyptian Premier League, will lead the team ahead of their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Malawi and other matches.",
