"account": "Haiti's Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aime announced on Friday that gang leader Mathias Saintil had been killed. Fils-Aime tweeted that \"one less gang leader\" had been eliminated, affirming the government's resolve to combat the gangs' influence. According to a report by Reuters, Saintil sustained severe abdominal injuries in a drone strike during a drone strike in Boston, a gang-dominated area on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince. He passed away the following day while receiving medical care. The demise of Saintil represents a significant setback for Haiti's criminal organizations since 2024, occurring as the government intensifies its security measures. This intensified effort involves both Haitian authorities and Salvadoran troops who were recently deployed to the country following a security incident involving four Salvadoran UN peacekeepers who went missing. The deployment, which has seen around 2,000 troops in Haiti since last month, is part of a broader strategy by the government to restore stability before elections, now delayed. Some Haitians have welcomed the Salvadoran troops' arrival and Bukele's tough stance against gangs, with pro-Bukele demonstrations reported in various parts of the nation on Friday.",
