"summary": "Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced on Saturday that he is giving opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot the first opportunity to form a governing coalition. Following the October 27 elections, neither Eisenkot nor Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s party secured a clear majority. According to El Pais, the decision follows consultations with various political groups in which Eisenkot received 67 of the 120 parliamentary supports, including the four main Jewish opposition parties and the two Arab lists.\n\nCBS News reports that representatives from most of Israel's main parties recommended Eisenkot be tasked with assembling a new government during discussions with the president this week. The move follows allegations from Netanyahu regarding election interference by Arab countries. However, Din Livne, the acting director-general of the Central Elections Committee, stated in a letter on Thursday that there is no basis for claims regarding a systematic compromise of election integrity.",
