"account": "Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, who served as the nation's second-in-command from 1999 to 2007, has responded to President Bola Tinubu's criticism of his educational investments. Tinubu had questioned how Atiku established a university while serving in government, alleging that public funds were used for the venture. In a statement issued by his Director of Strategic Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku clarified that his investment in education predated his time in public service. He detailed the founding of ABTI Academy in 1993, six years prior to his appointment as vice-president. Atiku argued that his business record was transparent and open to scrutiny, contrasting his history with Tinubu's. He accused the current administration of diverting attention from the economic hardships affecting Nigerians, particularly as more than 79 million people have been pushed into extreme poverty under the present leadership. Atiku proposed an alternative economic plan under his Affordable Life campaign, emphasizing a transparent, production-based petrol subsidy tied to local refining. This would, he claimed, provide Nigerians with lower energy costs, including reduced petrol and diesel prices, while expanding social welfare programs.",
