"summary": "President Donald Trump has promoted Stephen Miller to White House chief of staff, effective Monday. Miller, who currently serves as deputy chief of staff, succeeds Susie Wiles. According to the Times of India, Wiles will be moving to the Trump Political Operation following her removal after the mid-term elections.\n\nIn remarks shared in a video posted by Trump, Miller pledged his \"absolute loyalty\" and \"total devotion\" to the president. The Guardian US described Miller as a hardline aide and the architect of the president's immigration crackdown, noting concerns that the administration may double down on a far-right, nativist immigration agenda.\n\nThe Times of India characterized Miller as a foreign policy hawk with hardline views on the H-1B visa program. The outlet noted that Miller previously accused India of financing Russia's war on Ukraine and \"cheating on immigration.\"",
