"summary": "The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) will close selected roads within the Central Business District this December to create additional trading spaces for individuals without permanent shops. According to MyJoyOnline Ghana, the stretch from the Cocoa Board area to Kantamanto will be closed following a directive from the Minister of Local Government, Mahama Ayariga. This initiative is intended to allow traders to increase their sales during the Christmas festivities.\n\nAccra Mayor Michael Kpakpo Allotey announced the plan during the November National Sanitation Day exercise. Adom Online reports that the government plans to block portions of the Tudu area and the Cocoa Board road to create designated spaces for goods and prevent trading at bus stops. Both MyJoyOnline Ghana and 3News note that traders currently operating at bus stops have been directed to vacate those areas by Monday to ensure the smooth movement of pedestrians and vehicles.\n\nThe Mayor also noted that the time allocated for traders to resume business following clean-up exercises has been adjusted from 12:00 noon to 10:00 a.m. to provide more time for business activities. He commended traders for their cooperation and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and order in the capital.",
