"summary": "FAI President Paul Cooke has stated that the sole intention behind the Republic of Ireland's recent UEFA Nations League matches against Israel was to fulfill those fixtures and act in the best interest of Irish football, while also considering the situation in Gaza. Speaking at the FAI's annual general meeting in Cork, Cooke also mentioned that the association has been invited to attend the Oireachtas Committee on Sport to discuss safeguarding issues, but they will not be able to attend on the proposed date. Instead, they have offered to meet at a future agreed time.",
