"account": "On November 7, 2026, an Indian Air Force (IAF) IL-76 heavy-lift transport aircraft achieved a historic milestone by making a record-breaking 13,600-foot touchdown at the Nyoma airbase in eastern Ladakh. This remarkable feat is described as the highest-ever landing for the aircraft worldwide. The airbase, situated at a height of 13,629 feet, is strategically significant as it stands approximately 25 kilometers away from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. The IAF lauded the crew's exceptional skill, precision, and professionalism for this achievement, emphasizing it as a milestone that reinforces India's strategic airlift capability. This accomplishment underscores India's growing infrastructure development at airfields along the LAC, including the Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs), with Daulat Beg Oldi ALG holding the record for the highest airfield in the world at 16,700 feet.",
"summary": "The Defence Ministry has been focusing on enhancing infrastructure at almost all airfields along the LAC including the Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) as per operational requirements",
