"account": "Kiwis faced a remarkable comeback in Rugby League World Cup after star player Kalyn Ponga suffered a broken left forearm in the tournament opener against Australia. Despite the injury that initially forced him off, Ponga made a shocking return to the starting lineup and led his team to a 34-10 victory over Tonga, securing a spot in the Men's World Cup final for the first time in 13 years. Playing with a protective bandage on his arm, Ponga was instrumental in four of New Zealand's six tries and demonstrated his leadership, defensive prowess, and skill with his footwork and handling. Kiwis captain James Fisher-Harris described Ponga as a \"freak of nature\" and praised his defensive mindset and leadership abilities. While New Zealand's victory was undoubtedly driven by Ponga's performance, coach Stacey Jones emphasized that the team's success cannot be attributed to a single player. New Zealand's Women's team also showcased their talent by sweeping aside Samoa with a 32-0 win, with Stacey Waaka scoring a hat-trick of tries. The Kiwis remain optimistic about their chances in the upcoming final against either Australia or Fiji, expressing their hunger for success and determination to build on their 2008 achievements.",
