"account": "Gina Hinojosa, the newly elected governor of Texas, has outlined her plans to exert control over tech magnate Elon Musk and his companies SpaceX and Tesla. During her campaign, Hinojosa made it clear that she aimed to rein in data centers and billionaire tech entrepreneurs. Now that she is in office, she has vowed to maintain a firm stance with Musk and his firms, insisting that a strong working relationship can only be achieved on their terms. Hinojosa emphasized that her administration cannot simply disregard the people of Texas, as she pledged to set more stringent regulations on data centers while ensuring the state remains business-friendly. She is already taking steps to prevent Musk from potentially acquiring state park land for a SpaceX facility, expressing her concerns about preserving this valuable resource. Hinojosa’s appointment has garnered attention from Wall Street and the AI industry, as Texas serves as a hub for the data center boom, hosting over a quarter of the US’s planned capacity. Musk has made significant investments in Texas, relocating SpaceX and Tesla there from California and contemplating the construction of another large data center in the state. Moreover, Musk has invested nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in the recent midterms to aid Republican candidates. However, Musk has also suggested that space-based AI infrastructure could be a more appealing alternative, as indicated by his recent comments on X after a resounding election defeat.",
