"account": "Brazilian football club Santos FC has announced the appointment of Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior's father, Neymar Santos Sr, as their new CEO on Friday. The club's official statement confirmed that Neymar Sr, who has been instrumental in his son's career, founded the agency NR Sports which holds the rights to Neymar's name and image. Brazilian media reports indicate that Neymar Sr's contract remains active until December, and his continued role as CEO will depend on the re-election of Santos president Marcelo Teixeira next month.\n\nCurrently, Santos sits in ninth position in the Brazilian Serie A standings with a total of 47 points from 34 matches played. Speaking about the appointment, Teixeira expressed his optimism, stating, \"We have been working daily to find solutions and alternatives to improve Santos’s situation and strengthen our management. The arrival of Neymar Sr. as the new CEO represents one more step in this process. I am confident that, with his experience and knowledge, we will be able to move forward even further and together build an ever-stronger club.\"\n\nNeymar, a former player for top European clubs Barcelona and Paris St Germain, had returned to his former club Santos in 2025. The Brazilian all-time leading scorer with 80 goals in 130 appearances made the decision to leave the national team after the World Cup in North America in July. Just a few weeks prior, he had indicated his intention to end his international career after their 2-0 defeat to Norway.",
