"account": "A sub-adult male elephant, estimated to be between 10 and 12 years old, was discovered lifeless in the Shankara Range of Shivamogga Division on November 7, 2026, in Ichavadi village. Authorities suspect the elephant met its end after coming into contact with a live electric wire situated along the boundary of a paddy field. Officials from the Shankara Range and Shivamogga Division arrived at the scene, where they interviewed Alimiya, a local resident, as part of the preliminary investigation. According to Alimiya, he had installed a fence and connected it to a power source to shield his ripening paddy crop from wild boar. A case has been filed under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, and the Forest Department has mandated MESCOM officials to take action against the accused under the Electricity Act. The elephant's body will be disposed of following the standard operating procedure.",
