"account": "An Assistant Superintendent of Police in Lagos, Omotayo Olajide, has been detained following a tragic incident on Thursday, November 5, in Ajegunle. While conducting an operation in response to a clash between two rival groups, the Nosamu Boys and Alayabiagba Boys, Olajide's firearm accidentally discharged, killing a girl and injuring another. The incident occurred between 9.30 pm and 10 pm in the Nosamu area of Ajegunle. The police public relations officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated that Olajide had been deployed after receiving a distress call about the violent clash between the two groups, who were armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons. Both girls were rushed to Ajeromi General Hospital, with one later transferred to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) and succumbing to her injuries. The surviving girl is in stable condition. The deceased has been identified as Omole Taiwo. Olajide has been disarmed and detained, with the case being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, visited the bereaved family to offer condolences and pledged a thorough investigation, ensuring that no officer found culpable would be shielded.",
