"account": "A seven-year-old American girl, Aranza, was fatally shot by Mexican police during a drug enforcement operation, according to the state prosecutor's office in Matamoros, a city in Tamaulipas state bordering Texas. The incident occurred on October 29th when police opened fire on the girl's family vehicle from a helicopter. The girl was struck in the head by the gunfire. Her mother recounted the events to Mexican media, stating that the family had stopped their pickup truck after noticing a police helicopter following them. They declared themselves to be civilians with children, but were still targeted. The Tamaulipas attorney general, Jesus Govea, informed Mexico's Milenio network that the officers involved in the shooting remained at large, but significant progress was being made in the ongoing investigation. The incident is one of numerous instances where civilians have been killed in crossfire from drug-related violence in Mexico over the past two decades.",
