"account": "Sao Paulo, Brazil - Brazilian football club Santos FC has announced the appointment of Neymar's father, Neymar Sr., as the club's new CEO, the organization announced on Friday. Neymar Sr., who also serves as Neymar's agent, has been instrumental in his son's professional journey and established the agency NR Sports, which holds the rights to Neymar's name and image. According to Brazilian media reports, Neymar Sr.'s contract with Santos FC is set to expire in December, but he will remain in the CEO position if club president Marcelo Teixeira secures re-election next month.\n\nSantos FC currently sits ninth in the Brazilian Serie A standings, having amassed 47 points from 34 matches played so far. In a statement, Teixeira expressed his commitment to finding solutions and enhancing the club's management, stating that Neymar Sr.'s appointment as the new CEO marks another significant step in this ongoing process. Teixeira is optimistic about Neymar Sr.'s experience and expertise, believing that together they will propel Santos FC to even greater heights.\n\nNeymar, a former Barcelona and Paris St Germain player and Brazil's all-time leading scorer with 80 goals in 130 appearances, returned to his former club Santos FC in 2023. He was a part of the Brazilian squad that participated in the 2022 World Cup held in North America; however, late in July, he announced his decision to withdraw from the national team following their last-16 elimination by Norway. Weeks later, Neymar had hinted that his international football career might be drawing to a close.",
