"account": "The United States government reaffirmed its stance that there are only two genders - male and female - during President Donald Trump's administration, according to a post from the White House on its official X account. This position, which has been a long-standing principle of Trump's administration, was reiterated on Saturday, declaring that \"it is the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male & female.\"\n\nThe statement is in line with an executive order signed by Trump on January 20, 2025, titled \"Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.\" The order defines sex as an individual's \"immutable biological classification as either male or female,\" and states that sex is not synonymous with gender identity. Federal agencies were directed to adopt these definitions in their interpretation and application of federal laws and government policies. The order also required government agencies to remove any official statements, policies, regulations, and communications that were inconsistent with the administration's position and to ensure that official forms requiring an individual's sex listed only male or female.\n\nThis reaffirmation comes as part of Trump's broader policy to reverse federal government measures introduced by his predecessor, Joe Biden, which recognized gender identity in various areas of government policy. When Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States in January 2025, he emphasized a policy that recognizes only two genders - male and female - effectively dismissing identities such as transgender, non-binary, and genderqueer.",
