"account": "The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room has called for fair elections, institutional independence, and protection of democratic rights ahead of the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections. The coalition, led by Yunusa Z. Ya’u and including Mma Odi and Celestine Odo, expressed concerns about political realignments, internal party disputes, election-related violence, and the use of inflammatory rhetoric in the lead-up to the polls. They also questioned the transparency of campaign advertising fees, which range from N200 million to N40 million, and the nomination of INEC officials based on alleged family ties. The Situation Room urged INEC to clarify safeguards for electronic result transmission and publish a report on the preliminary voters' register before certification. They also called on the judiciary to handle intra-party disputes promptly and security agencies to remain impartial.",
