"summary": "Pablo Helguera has been appointed as the new director of the New School's Vera List Center for Art and Politics, succeeding Carin Kuoni after 22 years as Senior Director and Chief Curator. Helguera, an artist, educator, and writer, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as an assistant professor, director of the Arts Management and Entrepreneurship graduate program, and director of adult and academic programs at the Museum of Modern Art. Known for his socially engaged practice, Helguera's work often explores themes of language, culture, and social engagement through public performance, installation, and archival findings. His appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Vera List Center, as Helguera takes the reins of the university's art collection, which comprises over 2,000 postwar and contemporary works.",
