"summary": "President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Stephen Miller will replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff, effective Monday, November 9, 2026. Trump, who described Miller as one of his most trusted advisers, stated on Truth Social that Wiles has done an outstanding job and will move to the Trump Political Operation.\n\nMiller is a longtime Trump loyalist and veteran of the president's first administration who has served as deputy chief of staff since Trump's return to the White House in 2025. He is noted as an architect of hardline immigration policies, including mass deportation efforts and a target of 3,000 arrests per day. El Pais English and El Pais report that this appointment follows disastrous midterm elections for the Republican Party and may signal a shift toward even tougher stances in the president's second term.\n\nThe leadership change comes as the president prepares to face a Democratic-led House and Senate, alongside expected congressional investigations. According to Dawn, Miller has wielded significant influence over the domestic agenda and has worked closely with the president to drive aggressive immigration crackdowns.",
