"account": "The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) arrested two Kyiv entrepreneurs who are accused of supplying the National Guard with defective combat shirts worth over 8.6 million hryvnias, approximately $190,000. The SBU also alleges that the pair tried to bribe an officer to accept the substandard shirts. Upon learning about the offer, the officer reported it to his superiors, leading to the arrest of the suspects during the handover of the bribe. The SBU did not disclose the name of the company involved. In the ongoing Russian invasion, Ukraine's army prioritizes procurement contracts to ensure their soldiers receive adequate gear. Cheating on military procurement not only costs money but also puts soldiers at risk due to faulty equipment. This incident is not unique, as the SBU has previously exposed similar schemes, including one where suspects allegedly stole state funds meant for tank armor. The arrested suspects include a woman who previously founded a Kyiv military equipment company and an individual representing the company. They have been detained and are facing up to eight years in prison, with property confiscation as part of their punishment.",
