"summary": "White House chief of staff Susie Wiles is leaving her position following the Republican Party's midterm defeat, according to CBC News. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Stephen Miller, the current deputy chief of staff, will replace Wiles starting Monday, November 9, 2026. The South China Morning Post reports that Wiles will move to Trump’s political operation, though the president provided no details regarding her new responsibilities.\n\nTrump described Miller as one of his most trusted advisors, a sentiment echoed by The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. The leadership change comes after Democrats won control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Regarding the midterm results, The Hill reports that former White House adviser Steve Bannon called for the immediate removal of Wiles and other political consultants after Democrats flipped GOP-held seats in Texas, South Carolina, Iowa, Kansas, and Ohio.",
