"account": "Tarik Skubal, a back-to-back Cy Young winner and free agent, is poised to set a new record for the largest contract awarded to a pitcher in Major League Baseball history. The current record, held by the Los Angeles Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto, stands at $325 million over 12 years (2024-2035). Skubal, who turns 30 in November, won the 2024 and 2025 American League Cy Young Awards with the Detroit Tigers, ultimately being traded to the Dodgers this summer. The Yankees' Max Fried holds the record for the biggest contract among left-handed pitchers, with an eight-year deal worth $218 million (2025-2032).",
