"summary": "US prosecutors have announced the arrest of Thomas Markle, father of the Duchess of Sussex, near Tampa on charges related to child sexual abuse material. The 82-year-old ex-television lighting and photography director was taken into custody early Friday. Meghan Markle revealed last month that allegations of child sexual abuse images found at her father's former home distressed her deeply, and she had previously sent a letter containing \"troubling allegations\" about her father to police in London in 2018. Markle was named as a person of interest in the case earlier this week, and he did not attend his daughter's wedding to Prince Harry due to estrangement and acrimony. The US justice department, the FBI, and federal prosecutors in Tampa have yet to comment on the matter.",
