"account": "As the 2026 Local Government Elections results indicate numerous hung municipalities across two thirds of the country, the Democratic Alliance (DA) is prepared to engage in coalition talks with numerous political parties. Federal Leader Geordin Hill-Lewis stated that the party will approach negotiations with the respect for the mandate that other parties have received from the electorate. Informal discussions with various parties have already begun, but the DA's provincial leader, Isak Fritz, emphasized that the final decision on potential coalition partners will be made by the party's federal leadership structures. The Northern Cape will see 17 councils governed through coalition arrangements following the elections, a position the DA has strengthened by more than two percentage points.",
