"summary": "The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has denied reports of a ceasefire agreement between Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province, and other criminal groups. This comes after The New Humanitarian reported that a secret truce had been in effect since June, credited with creating relative calm in parts of the North-East for three months. However, DHQ Director of Defence Information, Maj-Gen Samaila Uba, clarified that there is no ceasefire and that the military continues its operations against terrorists, kidnappers, and other criminal elements. Uba emphasized that the military is sustaining pressure on these groups, citing the number of terrorists neutralised, suspects arrested, and victims rescued during recent operations.",
