"account": "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dismissed renewed impeachment efforts on Thursday, stating in a video posted to X/Twitter that impeachment had failed against President Trump and would not succeed against him. Hegseth, filmed outside the Department of War, stated, \"You can rest assured of that.\" His comments followed Republican Representative Thomas Massie's announcement to reintroduce impeachment articles against Hegseth, drawing parallels to previous attempts against Trump. Hegseth emphasized that his policies were effective and that his opponents' attempts to remove him were driven by a desire for political power through personal attacks. US President Donald Trump expressed support for Hegseth, maintaining that he was performing well, despite suggestions that he might consider replacing him. Democrats had previously planned to remove Hegseth if they took control of the House, with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries vowing to initiate proceedings. Massie accused Hegseth of abusing his office by ordering an attack on Iran without congressional approval, planning to force an impeachment vote after the House reconvenes on November 9.",
