"account": "Senator Chuck Schumer has stated that Democrats will not permit President Donald Trump to appoint a \"right-winger\" to the Supreme Court when they regain control of the Senate. This pledge was made in an interview with The Associated Press following the Democrats' victory in the midterm elections, which secured them a substantial majority. Schumer hinted that Democrats may block Trump's nominees if there is a Supreme Court vacancy within the next two years. He emphasized that Democrats are \"not going to allow any crappy nominees\" to be confirmed to the highest court or other key positions in the government.\n\nSchumer's vow comes as Democrats have won a significant number of seats in the Senate, potentially giving them a durable majority. This could allow them to reject any of Trump's nominees, forcing him to consider more moderate choices. Additionally, Schumer's party plans to focus on lowering costs and addressing issues such as healthcare, housing, and energy bills. They also aim to investigate Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids and scrutinize the Trump administration, which he described as the \"most corrupted administration by far in American history.\"\n\nDespite facing opposition from some within his own party, Schumer is expected to retain his leadership position and will need to navigate divided government, working with a diverse caucus that includes progressives and incoming freshman from red states. He remains open to eliminating the filibuster to pass legislation with a simple majority, but will prioritize getting things done instead. Schumer did not disclose specific plans to address Trump or whether he would support an impeachment of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.",
