"account": "Thomas Markle Jr., the estranged half-brother of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has been identified as a \"person of interest\" in a Philippine inquiry into child sexual abuse allegations. According to Philippine authorities, there are \"signs that point to Thomas Markle Jr’s involvement in crime,\" although he is not currently being treated as a suspect. The inquiry focuses on allegations made against Markle Sr, the Duchess of Sussex's father, who is estranged from Meghan. Over 7,000 photos and videos, all depicting under-age children, were uncovered at Markle Sr's home in the Philippines. Markle Jr, who alerted local police and the FBI to the images, is 60 years old. He reported the discoveries to authorities, but the alleged involvement is not believed to be connected directly to the material he handed over. Markle Sr, who has been living in a care home in the US due to dementia, reportedly admitted to paying for sex in the Philippines but denies owning child abuse imagery. He suggested he might have been \"set up.\" The investigation is ongoing, with the results expected in the coming days.",
