"account": "Nintendo's Switch 2 sales have plummeted 41% year over year, bringing the total units sold to 2.67 million in the three months through September. This is the lowest sales figure since the console's launch, and it marks a significant decline compared to the previous quarter's 3.82 million units. Over the six months ending September 30, Switch 2 sales dropped 37.4% to 6.49 million units, down from 10.36 million in the same period last year. The price increase of $50 US, taking the Switch 2 from $449.99 to $499.99 in May, has likely contributed to this downward trend. Nintendo cited soaring memory costs as a major factor behind the price hike.",
"summary": "Across the six months ending September 30, Switch 2 sales reached 6.49 million units, a 37.4% decline from 10.36 million a year earlier. That amounts to almost four million fewer consoles, although the comparison includes last year's release, when The Switch 2 became the fastest-selling home console launch in US history.
