"account": "Istanbul, Nov 5 — Barisan Nasional chairman Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged all BN party machinery to exercise restraint and conduct their campaigning responsibly during the 16th Melaka State Election. The Umno president noted that while campaigning between BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) has intensified, several clashes have occurred that should have been avoided. Ahmad Zahid emphasized the importance of mutual respect, as per his understanding with the PN chairman, even though there is no formal agreement. Speaking to Malaysian media after a pre-meeting with the country’s representatives in Turkey, Zahid stressed that issues unrelated to the state election should not be raised, as they would not alter the stance or decisions made by voters. The Election Commission has fixed November 14 as the polling day for the Melaka state election, with early voting set for November 10.
