"account": "Legendary Australian Formula 1 driver Alan Jones passed away at the age of 80 on the Gold Coast on November 5th, following a short illness, according to a statement from his family. Born in Melbourne in 1946, Jones was the son of businessman and racer Stan Jones. He first won the Australian Grand Prix in 1980, becoming the last Australian driver to achieve this feat. Jones made his Formula 1 debut in 1975, driving for Hesketh. After losing his lead driver, Tom Pryce, in a tragic crash, he signed with Shadow and eventually joined the Williams team in 1978. Despite technical issues, Jones secured five victories in 1980, clinching the World Championship title. He later returned to the sport multiple times, racing in GT cars, open-wheelers, and V8 Supercars. In addition to his racing career, Jones also had a successful media career as a commentator for Australia's Formula 1 coverage, known for his honest and outspoken style. His legacy in the sport is marked by his numerous wins, the enduring impact he made both on and off the track, and the love and support he received from fans and family members.",
