"account": "Vice President JD Vance has pinned the blame for the Republican Party’s disappointing showing in the 2026 midterm elections on the ongoing Iran war. During a post on his X handle, Vance argued that many supporters of President Donald Trump switched their allegiance to Democrats due to dissatisfaction with the conflict. While turnout was encouraging in several states, Vance pointed out that a significant number of Republican voters were angry and may not have voted for the party. According to Vance, the main issues voters abandoned the Republicans were concerns about the war, economic hardship, America's foreign policy priorities, and its relationship with Israel. Democrats capitalized on the situation, successfully gaining control of Congress as the Trump-Vance ticket suffered a major defeat.",
