"account": "The Nigerian government has unveiled 26 education initiatives spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu's administration, as reported by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa. These programs, detailed in a comprehensive A-Z document titled \"From Reform to Results,\" aim to enhance access, improve institutions, promote research and innovation, and equip young Nigerians with practical skills. The initiatives target various levels of education, from basic to tertiary, and involve students, teachers, researchers, and other education stakeholders.\n\nAmong the initiatives are the ASUU Agreement, which renews the contract between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, guaranteeing a 40% increase in academic staff remuneration and a revised Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance. The Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) program focuses on expanding basic education access, particularly in 17 northern states with high numbers of out-of-school children. The Campus Mobility Initiative provides environmentally friendly transportation, with 780 electric tricycles deployed across 48 universities.\n\nDiaspora BRIDGE connects Nigerian experts living abroad with Nigerian students, fostering knowledge and experience transfer. Empowering Educators Through EduRevamp and the Accelerated Teacher Professionalisation Pathway supports teachers' professional development, certification, and licensing, with 53,553 teachers registered on EduRevamp and 51,794 for the first ATPP cohort. Free Technical Education offers free tuition, boarding, textbooks, and uniforms to students in federal and selected state technical colleges, with 38 colleges rehabilitated to improve practical skills training.\n\nGirl-Child Education initiatives, including the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment, address barriers preventing girls from enrolling, remaining, and succeeding in school. HOPE Education, supported by $552 million in World Bank funding, aims to strengthen foundational education and improve learning outcomes, benefiting 29 million children, supporting over 500,000 teachers, and upgrading 10,000 non-formal learning centers.
