"account": "The Assin South District Police Command has apprehended a father and his son in connection with the alleged murder of 31-year-old Samuel Kofi Amankwa in Assin Akrofuom, Central Region. The suspects, Joseph Mensah and Anthony Mensah, are accused of assaulting Amankwa after accusing him of stealing half a bag of fresh cocoa beans. Reports indicate that the incident might be linked to previous theft allegations against the deceased. According to the Asona Abusuapanin of Assin Akrofuom, Nana Kofi Ohemeng, the suspects forcibly entered Amankwa's room and assaulted him while he was asleep. Amankwa's sister, Ama Bimpomaa, alleged that the attackers tied him to an electricity pole and beat him until he died. The Central North Regional Crime Officer confirmed the arrest of the two suspects, stating that one of them confessed to confronting Amankwa after allegedly witnessing him stealing the cocoa beans. The suspects surrendered themselves to the police following the incident, and evidence, including bruises on Amankwa's body and a rope used to tie him, has been collected. The body is awaiting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The two suspects face provisional charges of murder and are set to appear before the Assin Fosu District Court. Authorities urge residents to report criminal activities to the proper authorities and not take matters into their own hands.",
