"account": "Australian Formula One legend Alan Jones passed away at the age of 80, just days after his birthday. Jones achieved the remarkable feat of winning 12 grand prix races throughout his career and became world champion in 1980, joining Jack Brabham as the only Australians to have accomplished this. His 1980 world championship inspired a generation of Australian motorsport fans, as it marked the last time an Australian driver had won their home grand prix. Jones, whose father Stan was a racing driver, moved to Britain in 1970 to chase his F1 dreams and eventually became the world champion with the Williams team. After retiring from racing in 1986, he transitioned into broadcasting. His wife Amanda Butler-Davis released a statement expressing deep sorrow over his passing and praised him for dedicating his life to motorsport, leaving an enduring legacy on the sport both nationally and globally. The Australian Grand Prix highlighted his special place in the history of motorsport, noting that his 1980 world championship victory remains the last time an Australian driver has claimed success at their home grand prix. His passing will be deeply mourned by the motorsport community around the world.",
